Restorer32
Supposed to be a '48 but can't seem to find a stamped serial #. Can anyone tell me how to distinguish a '48 engine from the casting numbers on top of the bell housing? Numbers appear to be 56H AG 1622. Motors manual says the serial # of the engine is on the top of the trans but this seems to make little sense. Thanks for any help!
John Murphy
Lincoln V-12's never had a serial number stamped on the block Being a Ford product the car serial nimber was stamped on top of the transmission, by the left motor mount and on the left rear frame any number on the block was a csting number. 56H blocks were post war blocks.
