rnettleship
Does anyone know how to remove the glass from vent window frames so they can be plated. I tried on one that was already broken and it looks highly likely the others will break as well.
PONTIAC1953
i would think that if you held the glass in a cloth lined vise, you would be able to remove the frame with a rubber or wooden mallet. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor. Guest rsd9699
Never use hammers and metal tools on glass.Use a mild solvent such as lighter fluid to soften the old adhesive and spring open the metal frame just a little. It should nearly fall out.Or take it to a glass shop and have them do it. They will likely do it for free if you buy the adhesive from them to reset the glass in the frame. They can cut the glass for the broken vent and some can even date code it.Ron
