My Dad passed away today after a long illness. It is only fitting to list the 142 cars he owned over the years-- only a few were bought new. A few years ago he wrote an autobiography with a short tribute to each car, and the adventures he had with them.

As early as I can remember, I have had a love affair with the automobile. On many, many evenings when I was little, Dad and I would sit out front and name the years and makes of cars as they passed. We had lots of fun as he taught me what he knew. Cars have been an important part of my life ever since and because they are intricately tied to many of my family’s adventures, following is a list of the ones I (and then we) have owned.

I first met Dave when I joined the Presque Isle Region many years ago. He was one of the nicest guys that I ever met. He made me feel very welcome and this started a long association with some great people in a great hobby. I once found him and his wife and son stranded on the Interstate 90 when his Chrysler roadster broke down after our club's annual car show in Waterford, Pa. I brought them to my house where we changed cars so that I could drive them home to Conneaut Oh. Dave never forgot what I didn't think was such a big deal.

He was a great man with a great family. May he rest in peace.

Thank you for posting ...

Your Father was instrumental in the preservation and care

of many classic cars .....

In the end, we are all ' Stewards ' and personally I think the

best examples are those of us that can resist the urge

to put our ' Thumbprint ' on something we really only

own for a short period of time

Kudos to your Dad ..... ;)

Thank you all for your kindness. I have passed along your messages to my mom. John, she immediately remembered you from the Club and remarked on what a wonderful person you are. Talking about the AACA has brought back some happy memories for her.
