motoringicons Posted December 1, 2011 Share Posted December 1, 2011 This 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria 2 Door Hardtop was sold new in South Carolina and remained there until 1992. The car was restored in about 1990 and has always been well maintained and well kept since the restoration was completed. The original Y-block engine was recently completely rebuilt including the transmission, brakes, cooling system, fuel system, tires etc during the last 5 to 10 years by the current owner. The engine was rebuilt by Gary Mc Kinzie who is a noted Y-block Ford engine specialist. The car has actively been driven with several long trips each summer and the engine how has about 12,000 miles on it and the car has a total original mileage of about 52,000. The paint is excellent throughout showing only miminal signs of typical wear. The door fit, hood fit, trunk fit is excellent. There are no signs of body damage or repair anywhere. The chrome is excellent. The glass is in excellent condition and all the windows work as they should. Most of the glass has the original Ford date codes. The upholstery was recently redone to as original specifications and remains in like new condition including the door panels, headliner, carpets, etc. The dash board is also excellent and has a full complement of working gauges. There is an additional water temperature gauge added below the dashboard and the original Ford radio has been modified with modern am/fm internals and another near NOS radio is included with the car. The engine bay is extremely well detailed and clean including a new Ford script battery and the chassis is very clean. The tires are near new, white wall radials. This car runs and drives like a new car and is ready to be driven anywhere with confidence. Included is a large folder with receipts, photos of the engine rebuild, copies of the past titles, etc. There is also a small pile of extra parts, correct spare tire, jack, etc. The price is 17,500.00 and it is located in Ann Arbor, MI.
