1927 Chrysler I-50 / Rear axle

Recommended Posts

I have been working on this for over a day now, does anyone know or is there a trick to remove the rear wheel from the axle?

I have loosened the brake pads, removed the nut and have attempted to push, pull and kick and I can't get the wheel to budge.

I have tried doing this to both sides and nothing, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Assuming it has wood wheels, you will need a hub puller. There is a thread about this on the Dodge and Dodge Brothers forum below. The hub puller will look something like this....

Back in the sixties a friend of mine bought a 61 Dodge with a few thousand miles on it,he decided to put brakes on it. We spent a whole day trying to get the rear drums off,I heated them red hot and still nothing happened. I offered to cut them off with a torch but he refused so he drove the car 185,000 miles and never changed the brakes. Fritz
