shadetree77 50
I have a chance to buy some parts that came from a 1953 Straight Eight 263. Will the parts be backwards compatible with my 1952 263? They certainly look the same, but looks can be deceiving. Does anybody know if they made any significant changes between the two years that I need to be aware of? The parts are varied but I'm for sure looking at buying the intake and exhaust manifolds and the rocker arm shaft assembly.
Aaron65 245
The only differences (that I know of) is in the rocker shaft assemblies--you could get either solid or hydraulic...make sure to get the right one!
The Old Guy 36
The cranks have a different flange for the manual and dynaflow. Make sure you get the right one for your tranny.
Ben Bruce aka First Born 3,670
Robert, grab the manifold. Good ones are scarce and they will work on the older 248s as well. Ben
