Guest passat40
We are looking to locate my Dad's first car a 1950 Oldsmobile Coup customized. A 3 speed 39 Lasalle transmission. A 389 cubic inch engine. Custom Green exterior, with custom leather interior. We have very little data however we do have an original picture we can send. The car was last seen in Libertyville IL back in the 1960's. Does anyone know how we need to proceed from here. keiser31
What a nice little custom job with the Cadillac rear quarters. If anybody would know where that car is now, it would be the guys on the forum called "H.A.M.B."...They are all about the rods and customs.Hokey Ass Message Board - THE H.A.M.B. Guest palosfv3
In order to get the help you need more info is needed. When did you dad own the car ? Where did they live at the time ? Sometimes memories need a little help . Kaiser is right about the HAMB but you will need additional info. The difficulty with customs is they are always a work in progress and as such change many times over the decades . It is somewhat of a rare situation for old customs remain the same for many decades. This evolution is already apparent in your pics . The metal work is in keeping with the early 50's , yet the scalloped paint treatment lends itself to the Watson styles that came out of California in the late 50's and early 60's. The car is unique and should be remembered by someone. Drop a note if you need anything.
