paulrhd29nz
All hudsons super six's have dates stamped in the castings. On you alum. crank case, at the rear behind the block, above the starter, on the flywheel hump, veiwed from the pas. side you will find a date stamp. Also most of the heads I have and have seen have a date cast in them.It may be that your motor has been changed out.Paul
thehandleman
after looking at the vin plate on firewall in better light it had 1-11-25 on the tag saying model and then the vin number for body 665376 I believe this is a 1926 5 pass sedan with a 1925 super six motor with a stewart model 25 carburetor,is there much demand recently for parts on these as this aluminium body wood is shot but has some decent parts. paulrhd29nz
Interesting date. Hudson started their moldel year on dec.1. Meaning you car was sold as a 1926 model, but your car was built in 1925 so your engine is correct.Post some pics!!. The alum. body cars are rare but not uncommon.Paul

Jon37
You may also want to post this on the Hudson club's forum at http://classiccar.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=showcat&catid=13&Itemid=129 . I'm pretty sure there is a demand for '25 or '26 parts out there. I have a friend who needed a part for his '26's carb and ended up buying about 4 of them in order to get what he needed! Guest Harold Phillips
Is this the flat head engine like the 24 or had they gone to the f head in this car, I am going to need some engine parts but would consider all if that would work,Thanks, Harold
paulrhd29nz
handleman,You should realy post what you want to do with this car on the HudsonSuperSix16-29@yahoogroups.com .This is a chat form that deals ONLY in 1916 to 1929 Hudson cars. the other sites out there are mostly to do with them new fangled hudsons There a fellow in california looking for a car just like yours now for a project.Just so you know, hudson made complete cars as well as supplying chassis and motors to other body manufactures, mostly Biddle & Smart. These were fancier cars with the body made from aluminum. Most of them were poorly put together (compaired the hudson built cars that were made from steel) The wood work is a MAJOR job. There is a web sit called www.coachbuilt.com that will give you lots of info about your Biddle & Smart hudson car.If your car is complete, fenders and motor ect. I say do not part it out. there are people out there that will want this car.Good luck , and if you need any help, or parts let me know.Paul
thehandleman
missing windows, handles, wood wheel, has metal steering spokes, took wire off and all four doors would have fallen right off if I did not catch, wood rotted. has flathead engine missing vacum tank and horn, has fenders and trunk rack, dash items, windshield frame and attaching hardware, I would Imajine be a nightmare project, aluminium doors mostly good cowl ok has two cowl lights no headlights, has rad shell missing a few louvers has hood and sides of hood, wheels wood spokes rough. I have started disaasembling have not determined whats next, probably will part out as I feel profit margin higher on parts then offer on car. Thanks for your responses.RB
