db17
I have been trying to reassemble the rear axle bearings on a 1917 DB touring car. The problem is that I purchased it in boxes and have no way of telling what goes where. I have the DB Assembly book and the parts book but they're not mush help. Page 29 (DB Assembly Book) has a picture of the axle but it gives no details. Here is a picture of my axles. Can anyone tell me if its correct or what I'm missing. Any help would be appreciatedHector
StillOutThere
Howdy, I'm also in Texas and have a '17 touring! Can anyone help us with correct assembly of these axle bearings and seals? Thanks.
72caddy
Looks like you have everything but the inside spacer that goes against the retainer, the inner felt, then another retainer that sandwiched the felt and spacer that goes on before the inside bearing. For the outside, nothing seems missing. I am assuming the bearing cups are still in the hub.
db17
Thanks, 72caddy,Thanks for taking your time to answer. So I have everything except one spacer. If I understand you correctly I need one METAL spacer. Looking from left to right, starting with the inner bearings, then goes a metal spacer, then the felt then another spacer. Is this correct? For the outside, there is no felt? Thanks Again,

Many others. Dont know what 50 parts manual you are speaking of so cant comment. If you provide a link I can confirm either wayIf you get in a jam and no-one will step up to the plate than I will do my best to get you a copy if at all possible one way or another
