Guest Randy7
Would anyone have the top plate (where your arm would rest) for the drivers door on a 19 roadster, or have one for a touring that I could cut down to fit? Thanks for any help or ideas !Randy
dwollam
Randy, the roadster doors are longer. Would take 3 to make 2.
dwollam
Here is an ebay number to one for I believe a touring car. 320792841577
dwollam
Randy, another option I have seen more than once is to make them out of wood and either varnish or paint to match the car.
Guest Randy7
Thanks for the help Dave, I am the bid on the ebay one. You are of course right, it will need about 2 1/2 inches added to it. If I can't find another one or a piece of another one, I'll try to make a 2 inch piece. Surely someone has a 3 or 4 inch piece of a door top some where. dwollam
How many do you need?
Guest Randy7
Dave, I have the passengers side door top. The one on Ebay looks to have the same angle on the latch end as the one I already have. It would be great to find a piece for the drivers side that has the opposite angle on the latch end, but if not I can make it. If I get the one on ebay I will only need one piece. The top I have is 22 1/8 long.Randy
dwollam
That sounds about right for a roadster door. If I remember correctly a rear touring door top is about the same length but maybe doesn't have the angle? Not positive.
Guest Randy7
Well I got the door top on ebay, and it has the wrong angle on the latch end. Any body have an old door top piece about 6 inches long off a touring that they could part with?
Guest 1930
I have made simple sheet metal pieces like this in the past, if you could post some pictures of what is needed I am sure we can help you in some way
Guest Randy7
Thanks 1930, I think I can bend a piece to add on to it, but it would be nice to find a piece from an old door. I hope some one on here has a non repairable old door that would have a piece of top on it.
