Pete Phillips
An unrestored 1927 Oldsmobile sedan came into my shop last week. It is a very low-mileage, unrestored car, but needs another ignition switch. Someone in the past has worked on the switch and damaged it, and the soft metal housing (pewter?) disintegrated when we removed the switch from the back of the dashboard. I imagine replacements are impossible to find. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The car also could use another speedometer, as someone has done incorrect repairs on it in the past. The car has its original paint and upholstery and shows 11,000 miles on the odometer, which may be correct, judging from the lack of wear.I am knowledgeable about Buicks of this era, but not Oldsmobiles.Pete PhillipsSherman, Texas
