Northeast DA starter

When my starter was worked after engine rebuild they found the end-plate had cracked previously and someone had repaired with JB Weld. My rebuilder said he thought about making one but not after he saw the way the part was made. Anyone have a spare end-plate laying around? What info is needed to help me? The car runs great! I am really looking forward to driving it, but I must do something about the starter soon.

I thought that someone had posted at one point Myers and Romars had them as well, I have not verified this.

Doug, Myers does have the end plate...it's a little less than $200.

Make sure you replace the center plate as well. It was pot metal and broke easily on kick back. It acts as a center bearing and resists the kickback. Maybe yours already was replaced. Sometimes they were simply removed after fracturing.
