Graham Man
Looks like a 1937 Supercharged Coupe. The numbers should look more like this (120001-120199) VIN for the body and this (115001-118864) for the engine. The body number on the coupe is located on the front seat base. The engine number will be attached to the engine block. I am guessing (I do mostly early Graham cars) the tag you have pictured is trim level, color, body style and (RHD) right hand drive? Looks like the original color.
Guest Nuvolari
engine and transmission, not in body. axles and suspensions modern. maybe it was a sedan and coupe converted.
Graham Man
I would say you are correct, it has been modified. The sedan would have the VIN numbers on the floor board just inside the rear door sill Right hand side of the car. With how modified your car is I would guess they are long gone.
