HarryJ
Looks like a Fisher body.
nzcarnerd
1928 Chrysler from the body mouldiings. Maybe a 62 by the lights.
Manuel
The early one says 1927.The younger one on the left is an early Ford Falcon.Manuel in Oz
keiser31
Not Chrysler....there are no raised lines on the fenders that the Chrysler would have.
nzcarnerd
Had another look at this. I wonder of all of the parts are originally from the same car. There are some distinctive features. There are four door hinges - something very few cars had. The two door Buick sedans of 1927-28 had this but the windshield visor is not right. The nice plated (?) drum headlights narrow the date down so 1927 sounds about right. The windshield visor is a mystery.Who else did Fisher supply around that era? oldford
The 1927 Oldsmobile had similar 4 hinge doors and also had the the hood louvers wrapped in a 'frame' as the car in the photo has. The olds had beaded fenders, though. I'm not sure of the cowl vent.... Could the smooth fenders in the photo just look that way due to the glare??Frank
28 Chrysler
Not a Chrysler. Fire wall is not flat, vacc. tank wrong side.I was thinking Essex but the hinges are not right.
dei
With the fender, drum headlights and the two body line stampings on the door...... looks like a Whippet. The 27 & 28's looked similar. Maybe the larger Model 96A?
oldford
I think you nailed it with Whippet. The cowl vent is the clue. The car spotter's guide does not show a cowl vent on the late 20's Olds. Good digging...Frank
nzcarnerd
Yes Whippet looks correct. It is hard to tell from the wreck photo just what size the car is. The Whippet is about the smallest American car of that era. The four door hinges tell us it is a two door coach - or maybe a coupe.
