katmai
 We have a 1996 Buick Riviera-3.8V-6; Not turbo. It recently had a new battery placed...thanks to the advice from the AACA forum and responses to "Kaycee's" posting. Current problem:The service engine and brake light are lit up and once the vehicle is put into any gear the car starts alarming similar to a seat belt alarm. It doesn't stop until the car is shut off and it seems to have about a 30-45 second delay after the vehicle is started prior to alarming. Emergency brake and regular brakes are functioning well. Vehicle also seemed to have a loss of power once but it resolved itself. The alarm did stop once after a sudden stop in traffic but light stayed on...If anyone has any advice for repairing this problem...we would be appreciative Edited October 18, 2011 by katmai corrected information (see edit history)
