MarkV
Well I got the '48 back and I am having some issues starting it up (every few times) after it has been running, it seems like the engine gets flooded out easily, what could be causing this? Guest De Soto Frank
Is it hard to start when the engine is at operating temperature, as if you stop at a store for 5-10 minutes, and when you come back to the car it's flooding / hard to start, or its' hard to start "cold" from sitting over-night or for a couple of days ? DavidAU
Could be that the power valve in the bottom of the carb is damaged (from a back fire through the carb. A common problem) or some one has fitted a new power valve when rebuilding the carb and the power valve is leaking because they do not seat correctly. The power valves in most of the early Ford V8 carb kits are from modern holleys and although they look the same they dont work as the seat is different and they leak.
