deaddds
I probably have the console parts, maybe on the bead and will look for the front trim. Can you send a better pic of the fender trim? Not really sure which part you need. dead@mchsi.com thanks Pat

Guest rsd9699
Some times you have to bust open the old billfold to get what you want or simply just do without until you stumble upon the part you need. I know that my quests for 57/58/59 Chrysler products factory air blowers is a problem for me - I need several for my projects and they are not commonly found just laying around. This is the dilemma of all old car owners - where to spend my money to get the most bang for the buck.Ron
rocketraider
Please don't reply if you are a rare parts speculator.Oh lordy, that's killing me! I'm guessing by now you've run into a couple of those types, where every full-size part is Starfire and every A-body part is W30/Hurst. I can think of one in California who is notorious for it.They're the kind of guys who make you appreciate a good and fair deal even more.
Guest dstaton
Thanks, Glenn,1 These parts are useless except to a very few of us. The idea of supply and demand should be a wash with these parts; they aren't making any more of some, but only a few of us need them. They should cost what GM charged adjusted for inflation. For instance, a piece of fender trim from the Parts Department cost $12 in 1970 would cost $66.62 today. 2 These parts speculators are living in the former economy. It's not coming back. I am not rebuilding my Starfire to resell for $27,000 or whatever they went for in 2008. I am driving mine to work during the cold months in Tucson, and on weekend dates. A trim part cannot cost 10% of the value of a car. I want my rescued Starfire to drive with dignity until that time. Most of us have more time than money these days... Don't we all?3 Not all: for the banker types, I am totally scalping the few leftover parts from my long gone 1967 390hp A/C Corvette. The owner of a $250,000 car needs to pay and pay in my opinion, if only so he can be happy with his good fortune.Sincerely,Doug
Hurst_Olds_1968
Just curious, what exactly makes for a "cold month" in Tucson?????

Guest Madyzsgocka
Hello:I am the manager of a storage facility in Buford, GA - 35 miles north of ATL. I am foreclosing on two units, one a 10x40, and the other a 20x40 which hold 5 1962 Starfires, and 1 1962 Olds 88. 2 of the Starfires are convertibles. All the cars are in pretty rough shape, however, there are some really nice re-usable parts on these cars. Most of the bodies have some rust, but, for instance, one of the convertibles looks pretty good. All the fenders, panels, hoods and trunks are not dented, they are in pretty good shape. There is alot of nice chrome, and window glass. I have a few of the chrome Starfire scripts from the trunk and fenders of the car. There's alot here to be salvaged. We have roughly 30 days to give anyone that wants anything from these cars a chance to make a purchase, and get the items. The owner of this property wants these cars GONE. He wants them to go to the recycle center. My contact there has given me a prelim. price of 4K for the weight of the scrap metal that they will pay us. I could just cry thinking that these could be crushed. Let's get you folks what you need off of them....or I'll sell them whole. The former owner has been in jail since mid-May, and looks like he's going to the big house for at least 2 years. He owes us alot of $ for storage fees. Our abandonment paperwork is working it's way through the court system right now, and we should be all clear in a few weeks. Do you know of anyone that may be interested in either the cars, or some of the parts? I've got some pictures here....I can snap more of specifics if someone is interested. My knowledge of the cars is limited, however, so if someone is really really interested, they may want to make a trip down here. I will do my best, tho, to give anyone as much information as I can. I appreciate your time, and if you, or anyone you know is interested, reply to the thread, we'll exchange email info. I have more pics, these only sho 4 of the cars. Thanks.Best Regards, Mady
