1965 spark plugs

In many cases back then, the 4bbl motors used a slightly colder heat range plug than did the similar 2bbl motors. Possibly just one or two "numbers" different.

Several possible scenarios . . . the 2bbl motors "put-put" around more at slower speeds whereas the 4bbl motors are driven "more normally", or with even more "verve", typically.

In either situation, the key thing is that the insulators stay "clean" during use in the way you're going to use the car. Only way to determine this is to put a new set of spark plugs in drive it for many thousands of miles and see if you have any problems.

Just some thoughts,

In 65 the 300 came in two versions, the 4bbl with high compression that burned premium, and the 2bbl with lower compression that burned regular. The 4bbl is listed as requiring 44. 2bbl 45. This is out of my Motor's.
