1956 Desoto VIN stamping location

Hello,

I need to locate the serial number stamping on the chassis of my 1956 Desoto Seville.

Can anyone put me in the right direction.

Vehicle Number is stamped on a plate attached to the left front door body hinge post.

Engine Number is stamped on a machined boss on top of the front side of the cylinder block just behind the water pump.

Body Number is is stamped on a plate attached to the front side of the dash panel near the brake master cylinder under the hood.

This information is directly from the 1956 DeSoto shop manual.

What I am looking for is the stamping on the chassis. I am sure there is one. I went under the car and could not locate. Someone who pulled the body on one of these cars would know.

I did find the engine number stamping on the chassis ( front drivers side).

In case you check this thread again. I believe the the number is stamped on the frame rail behind the right rear wheel. It should be the same number as the tag on the driver's door hinge post.
