Guest the chad
How many motor /transmission mounts are there on a 1989 reatta. My mech just changed the front passenger side hydraulic 225.00 dollars and labor. Engine still moving with and brake and rev test. He says 3 more, about 30 dollars apiece. I just wanted to stop transmission bump when down shifting to first. Probable cause he states is motor mounts.
padgett
I'd check the dogbone first. Easy fix. Under $15 from Amazon. Edited October 7, 2011 by padgett (see edit history)

Guest Recian
mine has 168k and all 3 of my mounts are fine. Theyre easy to visually inspect. One by the axle on the pass side, one by the driver wheel and one in the very center front. If theyre cracked or split then replace em but theyre all a bit tedious. not too difficult just alot of things to take off to get them out
padgett
How about the one under the a/c compressor manifold? Is that the one in "very center" ?BTW different 3800s have them in different places - the 90 Bonneville had one under the starter. Guest Recian
yea that's the center one. I think the mount location depends on the cradle put in the car
