Chevrolet 490 Front fender ident.

Need help to identify a front fender for a friend, I think it is for a 490 model,but don`t know the year and model.It has a pressing as shown on the photo with white pencil.His left fender dosen`t have that pressing.

Looks to me like there may have been damage that was filled in at that area on the left fender.

When I put the fingers to feel the differens inside the fenders I coudn`t feel any pressing at all in the left fender.Both fenders are NOS but someone have put "new"paint on the left ones.

Someone with a Chevy arond 1920 could take a look at their car and compare,the right fender is a little bit higher too.Maybe the right fender it`s not for a 490 model.?

Just wonder why Chevy people don`t want to share there knowledge with other,I counted Chevy threads on Chevrolet Forum and the last 200 ,there were no replies on 90 of them,on Buick Pre War Forums the last 200 threads, there were 10 without replies.

I think what you have there is a 1917 Maxwell fender...with the rear outline of the bump.

Thanks keiser 31.You are right about the pressing ,but this fender are stright against the runningboard,the one I asked about is curved against the runningboard.I have been looking at newer Maxwell as 1920,but they are more like late 1920s US cars fender. Leif in Sweden.
