padgett
OK, pulled the plate and pulley off the dud compressor for practise. Now pulled the plate off the one making noise. Bearing appears fine. All of the welds holding the pulley onto the clamp plate are broken (see picture). Anyone ever see this before ? New compressor with maybe 500 miles on it.OK have a picture on how to remove lower plate though not trivial. How do you reassemble inna car ? Pullers are of no use now. YWTK. NCReatta
Golly, padgett... you're having nothing but bad luck with this compressor crap... Maybe you ought to get a '90 compressor and get an adaptor for the plugs...
harry yarnell
Remove the snap ring and pry on both sides of the pulley with two prybars. Since it's fairly new, it should come off 'fairly' easily. Re-install the new pulley with a hammer and large socket or 2-3" pipe as a drift.
