carbdoc
I am restoring a 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III carburetor (or so I believe the car to be).I have no service information whatsoever regarding this carburetor, and I desperately need it since there are some aspects of it which are quite baffling, even to this veteran carburetor restorer. If possible, I would like to locate (preferably online) some parts breakdowns, service procedures, service specs and illustrations or anything else which may be available. I am particularly baffled by the choke shutter and its relief valve -- which appears to have been constructed backwards.Any help would be appreciated, including that from across the pond.Jeff
carbdoc
I neglected to specify that the carb in question is a Zenith DO 42, base stamped L971, Serial # 1192 stamped on lid.Jeff
carbking
Jeff - the P-III used an English Zenith DBVC-42 which is a two-barrel. The Wraith and 25/30 both used an English Zenith DC-42 which is a single barrel. I am unfamiliar with a DO-42.And since it is on a Rolls, why did you not expect it to be constructed backwards? Jon.
