padgett
My 90 verts just show 15" tires on the door stickers. I know the S60s had 16s in 90. Did they get a different door sticker ? If so could someone take/send a picture please ? Sam's is being difficult.
Guest blue72beetle
Since when did a place of business ignore what the customer wanted? If they're giving you trouble wave a big wad of cash in their face, tell them off, and find a different place.Whenever I buy tires for a vehicle and the tire shop asks what vehicle, I say doesn't matter, I'm bringing them in off the car. padgett
Been buying tires at Sam's for a long time - generally Michelin's are about the same price as fron TireRack (about $200/set less than local tire stires). Often just brought the wheels in. Lately they have been saying that to get the warrenty you have to put the same size (and now they allow +10) that came on it.Since the S60 came with 16s in 90, a copy of the door jamb sticker would help since almost all have 225x60x16s (+10 over 215x60x16). DAVES89
If the counter guy is giving you trouble about tire sizes, a door sticker isn't going to help because the door sticker doesn't indicate what the car is. For example you could have a picture of a LeSabre or Roadmaster, Enclave, etc. The only argument that would work would be that the sticker indicates that it is a two seater. But then the counter guy could say it is a G.M. sticker could be a Corvette or Allante. Good luck
harry yarnell
What's the problem? You can't put a 15" tire on a 16" rim, or vice versa.
padgett
Lawyers. Suspect some kid put 26s on something small, has a blowout, & sued. Now they say "only stock size tires". May just be a temporary issue but meanwhile the price of Michelins is going up fast.
wws944
If you can get the counter droid to actually look the car up on his computer, it should show the 16" wheels as optional for a '90 Reatta. Or bring your laptop and show him the same on the Goodyear/Michelin/Tire Rack/etc website. I promise I won't tell him that it was only for Select Sixties. Hopefully the rest of the forum will keep your secret safe too.
Guest spiering.lucas
In any case. 225/60r/16's are far off from some 26's haha. Damn kids and there big chrome wheels!
