cobravii
I haven't had any time to work on the Buick in the last month but you can bet I will be hittin hit hard now!!my wife and I took a roadtrip in our '65 Cobra replica from Fort McMurray, Alberta (approx 200 miles south of the north west territories border) to San diego and back! It was almost exaclty 3 weeks start to finish and 5000 miles. We drove down to Vegas first and spent a couple of days there and then we went to San Diego to get a pic of the car at the Mexican border. From there we went north to LA for a few days and then followed the #1 highway all the way to Vancouver Island and then back to Fort Mac through the canadian Rockies.See link Bucket list roadtrip :-) - FFCars.com : Factory Five Racing Discussion ForumWe had such an awesome time that we want to do the next one in the Buick! I told my wife we could drive it to Newfoundland to take her 85 year old dad for a ride with the top down :-)We might even head south to Florida after that just for kicks :-)
John_Maine
I have always wanted to drive the Alaska Highway - that's on my retirement bucket list (2013 maybe). Then from there, down the Pacific coast to San Diego then across the southwest and up into the Rockies. All I need to do is convince my wife. Another trip I'd like to take is to Greenfield Village, the ACD Museum and a Presidential Library tour.
jeff_a
The Alcan's fun. Did it in '64 and '74. If you want some excitement, try to re-create our family's 1964 trip: Hutchinson, KS to Clear, AK in February & March. North to Portal, ND; took a left through Moose Jaw to Banff; drove the entire length of Banff & Jasper Nat'l Parks; took another left through Prince George to Prince Rupert, BC; loaded our cars on the Alaska Ferry & went to Haines; re-boarded the Ferry for Skagway; loaded our cars on the Yukon & White Pass R.R. and took the train to Whitehorse, Y.T.; drove from Whitehorse to Clear via the Alcan and the state highway from Fairbanks to the Nenana River (road now goes from Fairbanks to Anchorage and is called the Parks Highway). We arrived 3 days before Good Friday...so made it just in time to catch the quake! Edited September 16, 2011 by jeff_a left out some stuff (see edit history)

Like the "Gumball Rally" ...LOL.... the speed limit in Utah is 80 mph on the interstate so you know what that means........... well, 100 mph naturally it drove really nice at that speed. It sure is hard to get used to 60 mph back home now!!!
