That Caddie DID have a park of sorts. Put in Neutral, turn off the key, and pull it into reverse, and it had a Park position.

hi wildcat, you may need to adjust the shift linkage a little bit, straight eight is correct, with the single or dual range hydra-matic, you could do it like straight eight said, or just put it in reverse first, then turn the ignition off, when the fluid pressure went to nothing, a spring would engage the parking pawl to the tailshaft, and the car wouldn't move. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor.

Its kinda confusing. The reverse selection for park is on the Hydra Matic, NOT Dyna Flow.

We got sidetracked on park position. Sorry bout that.

Dyna Flow only parks with selector in Park, and it is adjustable if the rebuilder put it together correctly.
