Guest jimbo2901
Hi, I am new to the club. I have a 29DA Business Coupe in need of a gas gauge and sender. Anyone know where I can find them?
HBergh
Hi, JC Whitney carries a replacement sending unit that other Dodge Brothers have installed in their DA. Part #: DCI100436P. There is an article in one of the DB News issues that discusses this replacement but I don't have the month and year at this time. I can get it for you in a couple of days if no one else provides it. The article sites a different part# but I just ordered one and the above part# is the part# on my order. Good Luck.
Guest 1930
That part # pulls up a set of brake pads with their on-line catalog, Jack Carpenter will rebuild your original unit if you send it to him, if you dont have one I may be able to help if you e-mail me at jhason2@yahoo.com
HBergh
The original part# that was defined in the Oct/Nov 2007 issue of DB News was MV132950. This is what I used to find the sending unit at JC Whitney. The previous part# that I provided was given from JC Whitney on my order form. When I searched the previous part# I provided, I got "nothing found". Sorry for the confusion!
Guest jimbo2901
ok thanks guys for the info. I was trying to find my copy of JC Whitney but guess its lost in the maze somewhere. Does this replacement look and feel like the original??Jimbo
HBergh
Jimbo: All I can say at this point in time is that others have used this replacement sending unit. I will be receiving mine this week and will be able to give you a more detailed answer to your question in the near future. Howard.
Guest jimbo2901
Hi Howard. Ok, I will be curious to see what you think of the replacement. Is your gauge working OK? I'm not sure I can resurrect mine or not. I was cleaning my sender unit and got it working pretty good until the last time I took it apart the little copper got away from me never to be found again!Jimbo
HBergh
Jimbo: I don't know if my gas gauge works yet. My original sending unit was rusted solid and had been previously repaired with baling wire. All I know at this time is that I see 6 volts at the wire that connects to the sending unit when the ignition is on. I should be able to provide my findings within the next couple of weeks.
