Tom_Overfield
Hi Folks,I have two different V-12 emblems in my parts collection and trying to figure out why they are different. I am assuming that they fit different years. I have an early 41 and according to the Authenticity Manual, my hood ornament base is two pieces with the botttom part on the hood being the seperate V-12 emblem. Here are the photos of the different ones. The one that is not chromed is also a bit taller than the other two.ThanksTom

Phil Knapp
Here's the V-12 emblem on my 1941 Contiinental.I'll get a better photo as soon as the weather cools off a bit. We've had the hottest summer on record here in Texas - above 100 dergees for 74 days and counting (and NO rain)!
Tom_Overfield
Looks like the question is answered, the one on Phils car is the one I have that needs chromed. One the way to Erie, Pa this morning to pick up the grills, headlight doors and turn signal housings for my car. I'll take a few other things and drop them off including the hood arnament. Thanks guysTom
Tom_Overfield
Does anyone out there happen to have the V-12 hood ornament base as pictured in the first photo? I took the one pictured to the plater and he advised that I may want to get a better example to have plated due to the pitting in the one I have, that will be extremely time consuming to correct. If you happen to have a good piece, let me know and we can go from there.ThanksTom
Keith L.
Tom, have you tried all the usual suspects, Merv, Boos, etc?
Tom_Overfield
Hi Keith,I left a message with Merv and Chris sent me a note that he had one. So I ordered it from him. As long as it is a good one, I will be good to go.Tom
