John_Maine
I asked this in the general forum but thought I'd come here as well. I was at a car show last month looking at a '55 Lincoln Capri 2 door hardtop. On the dash to the left of the steering column was a starter button. I was thinking this has to be something the owner added because there was a problem with the ignitiion switch or something but the owner happened by, so I asked. He said no, that they still used a button in '55. I find that hard to believe but if true, it must be one of, if not the last use of a starter button until recently. Did '55 Lincolns still have a starter button?
peecher
Yes, '55 Lincolns still had starter buttons. They were located on the far left of the lower edge of the instrument panel.
John_Maine
Was that the last year for a starter button in the US? (Aside from recent developments)
