Roadster90
I was driving the 91 last night and stopped at a Food Lion for a short. Came out and started the car and had a heck of a vibration - went away in 30 seconds. I tried starting again several times during the night and got the same action . ... seems to be happening when the a/c kicks in and I paid attention to the compressor and belt which appears to be fine with no adverse looking action or vibration/fluttering -any ideas please. The a/c has been converted....thanks,Nic

Roadster90
Wow - good thinking ....thanks. I have only had one bad one ever, and had forgotten about that possiblilty.....Thanks ....is a 100.00 repair part probably, but would rather have that than a compressor or something more difficult.....Nic
padgett
Can test the a/c compressor yourself with a 1/4 socket wrench and a 14mm socket (most compressors) should turn smoothly through 360 degrees. If it feels tight over part of the turn or seems to grate, I'd suggest having it checked out.OTOH a failing balancer should be easy to spot when the engine is not running by the cracks and chunks missing.91 "L" only has a press fit balancer - 88-90 "C" it is a slip fit.Did you check the level in the power steering resovoir ?
