Vacumn tank again

Is it a good idea to coat the inside of the vacumn tank with gas tank sealer?

I think that is a great idea. Mine had small pinholes on the bottom. I cleaned it up and soldered the holes shut but the gas tank sealer I think would be good..

I used fiberglass rasin on my gas tank and vacumn tank,works good. I used this on model a and ts for years, never any trouble .

Seems like a good idea to me. I would just make very sure you prep the surface well so the stuff adheres.

Your right Mike,I use a can of lye and water, it makes the inside of the tank shine. Then I wash it out real good and let it dry,then plug all the holes pour in the fiberglass rasin and turn it ever way , then let it dry.

I used POR-15 worked great filled minor pinholes and resistant to fuel

I have used the gas tank sealer as well inside of these tanks but be carefull to only do the bottom portion because if you go to high with it you may have a hard time getting the innner canister to fit down inside of there because it can as far as I have experienced already be a tight fit. When you still try and push one down into the other you will flake it off the inner sides of the outer tank and the crap will drop to the bottom and then eventually make its way into the rest of the fuel system.

I have never heard of fiberglass resin being used, I wont try until I look into it further it but it is interesting to hear, thanks for that
