Sill plates.......II................

Hello again:

Forgot to put this in the prior post, but how do you get the sill plates to stay their natural black? Or, how do you get them black again so they stay black?

I think (could be wrong) that there is only one shade of black.

I have seen many sill plates that were off color from wear, or road chemicals.

In Michigan the road salt did them no good and even turned the screws a whitish color.
