sctc
Brake Pedal went hard as a rock and reservoir is empty but nothing leaking around the brakes, any help to diagnose would be greatly appreciated.
Guest My TC Toy
Did you ever replace your brake accumulator? Sounds like it's gone bad.Can the car move or are the brakes engaged?
sctc
Thanks for the reply, Accumulator does not look like it was ever replaced and brakes are not locked up but when i press the pedal it does not move and brakes don't engage. Do you have an accumulater or know where i can get a new one versus original No's accumulator.
TwinCamFan
In my experience hard pedal usually means the ABS pump is not putting enough pressure into the system. Usual culprit? The electrical connection that feeds it. It's in the small black plastic 'pop top' fusebox on the passenger side inner fender. Look for the 30amp fuse that is badly corroded or distorted. Sometimes you can get by replacing the fuse but a more permanant fix is to relocate that fuse outside the box in a quality weathertite new fuse holder. Some soldering is involved but it's just 2 wire ends so it's pretty strait forward.Alan
sctc
Thanks I will check out the fuse and see if thats the culprit
Guest My TC Toy
New accumulators are available from TC Parts or Prior Remanufacturing.Beware of sellers with new old stock, this stock is still 20 years old.
