Guest WalterEh
Wiring Harness Question??I am replacing the wiring harness in my '59 Invicta and have run into a snag.I cannot free the connector body where it attaches into the firewall above the dimmer switch. I have tried prying it out, but am afraid that I will break the 50 year old plastic connector if I pry any harder. Is there a secret release clip, or some such thing that I am not seeing? Does the entire rubber gasket surrounding the plug come out with the plug, or just the white plastic connector? Is it attached somewhere on the other side of the firewall?Need the help of anyone knowledgable out there.Walt
60FlatTop
Check to be sure there is not a bolt in the center of the connector pulling the two sides together.Bernie
bhclark
I found a note in the Product Service Bulletins stating that cement was authorized for use to make sure the body wiring connections did not disconnect. It states to insert a small pointed tool and rotate all around the connector to break the cement seal. Guest WalterEh
Thanks to all, there is no bolt, but the adhesive thing would make sense.Walt
