dl456 Posted June 24, 2011 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Since it has been a week with no response, I'll chime in with what I know.Almost all cars of that era require a 600 weight oil in the gear cases. Trans. and diff.Lubriplate still makes this oil but is most reasonable from one of the Ford model Avendors.Do not use the HP gear oils as there is a possibility that red metals (bronze/brass)may be affected.In the absence of a manual for your car, this is good rule of thumb.Dennis Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
