And, this was the last year for the LaSalle. The build sheet from G.M. states this car was delivered to the Allen Cadillac Co., Springfield, MA, on 3/7/40. It was black (GM Code #1) and the wheels were "Vincennes Red #20327". It has delete running boards, radio, heaters, etc.

The body was removed by the previous owner and chassis and underneath cleaned and painted. All body work was done at this time and primed. The floor and trunk floor is solid. A great deal of chrome has been re chromed. A great deal of mechanical parts have been rebuilt, some appear new old stock. Recently installed a running '40 LaSalle engine (322 cubic inch) with serial number indicating this was from a '40 LaSalle, series 50, and it sounds great. Transmission shifts. Interior is complete but good only for patterns. Inventory lists, which can be e-mailed separately, include many extra parts, enough to fill a 4 X 8 box trailer. I have a New York State transferable registration in my name. Car is complete and original with nothing missing. Restoration is in progress, will need paint, some assembly, convertible top and upholstery.

Understand this "C" convertible sedan body was, and still can be used, for the Cadillac 1940 & 1941 series 62, Oldmobile 98, and Buick Roadmaster convertible sedans. $20,000. email:JPMCARCOLL@AOL.COM or call: 518-872-1119.
