tom nelson
Would like information on the paint colors on the steering colum and also the stripes on the wheels. The steering colum appears to be maroon, and wheel stripes, silver or grey. Appreciate your help.
John Murphy
Tom: Authenticity manual show the column color to be a "mahogany metalic." Years ago I was told by some old timers that the maroon paint on 1965 Buicks was a good match. Also the rims have three silver painted rings...spaced 3/16" apart. First and third rings are 1/16" size each and middle stripe is 1/8" in size. Any good paint store should be able to match the column color. Manual states "Steering Column Tube Assembly, including wall grommet and Emergency Brake Handle and Dash Brackets are mahogany metallic." Hope this helps. You really need the LZOC authenticity manual to restore the car to its original condition. Check with Earle Brown for one. He is listed on the LZOC web page under "sources" Click on sources and scroll down to his listing. Very good source. Good luck on the rare car.
