mt65riv
I rebuilt the carb on my '65 tonight. Man, what a difference. It started right up without having to pour gas into the carb (that's how I had to get it started before) and idles perfect. Got the kit from CARS and it took about 2 hours.I have the service manual for '65 and it shows how to adjust the linkage and the dash pot. I didn't even know you could adjust a dash pot or what it is for. Maybe I knew a lonnnnggg time ago. The one thing that I didn't find is the gasket and metal spacer issue discussed on the other thread. Is it the same for a non-AC 401? Jim? There was only a gasket under the carb when I pulled it. It doesn't look like it has ever been off. Thanks for the knowledge!
1965rivgs
Not an issue on the Rochester 4GC as it has a cast iron base as opposed to the Carter which has an aluminum base. You`re good to go.. Tom Mooney
