Car on tile

Recommended Posts

Am adding a door to my patio enclosure so I can park a car in there and have a question. The floor is 18" square ceramic tile on a concrete slab and I am concerned about cracking by driving a Reatta on it.

Am thinking about either 1x12 planks as runners or some HF foam mats.

Any opinions ? Different idea ? YWTK.

I dont know what to suggest for flooring but it occured to me that reducing the tire air pressure might distribute the weight over a larger area.

I suspect that if you can get up and on the slab without breaking the edge of the tile you will be home free. Maybe a small ramp that spares the edge the weight and torque of the front wheels will save the edge of the tile.

It would greatly depend on the quality of the tile job. If it's well laid it shouldn't be a problem, if not leveled well, uneven mud job underneath, then you may have problems.
