Guest riomar000
Just got some sweet shiny new chrome gauges got them all hooked up and running and the oil pressure is reading 35 p.s.i. My question is simply how much pressure should there be on this 401? Thank you mucho.
JZRIV
Based on feedback from the experts in past posts, 35 is normal when driving say 35-45mph. 40 being the highest you'd expect to see but as low as 30 isn't a cause for panic. With engine hot at idle, it can be as low as 10 or high single digits on the average engine with many thousands of miles (not a fresh rebuild). On a fresh rebuild, hot idle pressure will be usually be between 10 and 20.
