Paul K.
Does anyone have a part # for an off the shelf voltage regulator for my '41 Continental? i.e. NAPA, Auto Zone, etc. I could order one from one of our suppliers, but I would like to fix the car before the weekend. peecher
Paul, the replacement regulator used on all 1939 to 1955 Ford products will work for you. They are usually around $50. They do not have rubber gromets on the base but will mount to the firewall as the original. Be sure the base is grounded well. A coat of rattle can cadmium-gray paint will give them an original look. Paul K.
Thanks Peecher, Would it be like the one at the NAPA link below for a 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan? NAPA PROLink
peecher
The Echlin ECH#VR-401 that Napa offers should work just fine. This is the unit for all Fords with positve ground 6 volt systems.
Paul K.
Thanks Peecher. That is the same one that I had picked. It is listed as POS or NEG ground.
