Good day all,
I am having trouble finding a few items to finish the Skylark. Does anyone have any of these or know of a source?
16 engine splash shield clips (not staples).
One passenger side split bench seat hinge cover (any color).
One each sun visor chrome/stainless corner and pinch trim.
One rocker arm cover vapor filter to air cleaner rubber vent hose (90 deg. elbow).
Two standard (plastic) seat belt buckles, in fawn if possible. By the way, did '65 Skylarks come with rear seatbelts as an option?
Any help locating any of these parts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
[ 10-20-2001: Message edited by: jezac ]

Jezac...
Clips instead of the staples, eh? If your car was built at Fremont, CA, then staples are the correct fastener... just for trivia... Try Mr. G's for the fasteners at:
http://www.mrgusa.com/fasindex.htm
Very helpful if you have one of the old fasteners to compare to the pictures.
Seat belts.. try Ssnayke-Oyl for restoration and repos. Not cheap, but, hey it's safety gear...
http://mypage.ihost.com/usinet.cchesle/

Phil....
I dunno, but if I were in your shoes, I'd seriously consider going to a Buick 350 engine. More parts availability and power, plus, you could use those way cool TA 'Buick' cast valve covers... and send the breather elbow from your old 300 to Jezac.... LOL.
JMC

John,
I am considering a 350. The only reason I want to get another 300 is because I just recently installed headers, fresh 4bbl intake, brand new carb. All this was just installed about 2 months ago. Then my block cracked 2 weeks ago. mad.gif" border="0 I even have a hi-po postons cam sitting in my garage.
I would hate selling all these parts. I spent alot of money and I would not be able to get it back if I sold them all. frown.gif" border="0
You got any advice for a poor soul like me? confused.gif" border="0

Phil,
That's a tough break. You've done a lot of the things I want to do to my 300. I'd suppose that the best approach would be to start calling the LA area salvage yards and see who has a '64/65 LeSabre or '64/67 Skylark/Special with a 300 in it.
In the worst case, you'd probably be able to sell the new parts pretty easily.
JMC

hey 79Estatewagon: How much would you want for your carb, intake and headers? And if you ARE interested in selling them, would you want $$ for everything/would you part it all out... I am in no rush, just drop me a line if interested... oldskooln@aol.com
