MochetVelo
In 1908, Thomas & Tolman, the D.C. agents for Maxwell-Briscoe, challenged any runabout selling for under $1,000 to a race from New York City to Washington DC. Buick accepted, and the race commenced on June 27th, 3:30PM. RACE TO WASHINGTON. - Maxwell Runabout and Buick Runabout in Run to Capital. mercer09
Phil, that would have been a close race. I believe the Buick is a tad sturdier, so it may have come down to endurance moreso then hp. They were both 2 speed transmissions, although the Maxwell had a 3speed trans with a larger engine-model H-but that sold for 1450.
MochetVelo
I think a re-match will be necessary to settle this!Phil

MochetVelo
I don't have a Buick either, as I'm also a Maxwell fan. I doubt there's a Buick owner daring enough to accept your challenge!Phil
