keiser31
Does anyone here know whatever happened to the "junk" yard in Oceanside, California? It was between the railroad tracks and Highway 101. I think it was just north of the channel that cuts into town. I took these in about 1975, I think. The '32 Ford coupe body in the first photo was the only thing that was NOT for sale. RansomEli
I remember this yard. They also had a couple of late 20's Packard touring cars. When I met the owner he was not friendly at all and nothing was for sale. The state bought the property. I don't know what happened to the cars -- don't recall any auction. The cars just disappeared. TexRiv_63
Only one suicide door! If the cars did not get crushed they are probably hot rods by now.
CarlLaFong
At the same time, just down the road in Encinitas, there was a guy on 101 that had a dozen, or so, Packards behind his shop. Mostly post war, but a couple of late 30s. I lived on the road that paralleled 101 and could see them from my front porch. I never complained about the view. The surf in front of me and old cars to the north

He also had a car that I about fell over when I saw it. It was a Ghia bodied Cadillac that had gold anodized accents trim on the sides. It turned out to be some famous actress's car (I forget who). Hey, maybe that DA Dodge was the one that IDRJOESANDIEGO owns... Edited November 5, 2010 by keiser31 (see edit history)
