Dash pad removal on 65

Recommended Posts

I took the 4 screws out of the lower part of the dash pad and pulled the pad back about an inch... thats as far as it seems it wants to go , am I missing something ? I don't want to strong arm anything as the dash pad is in perfect shape and I don't want to ruin it. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks

There is a spring loaded clip on the chassis that needs to be released. There's no proven method for doing this, but I think if you push the pad forward and try to get it up higher in the front before pulling it back, you can get the hooks to release. Attached are pictures of the spring clip and the hook on the bottom of the dash.
