1936 6BA engine

Recommended Posts

I have a 1936 Flat Head 6 engine with Transmission that was recently removed from a 2 door coupe (6BA38547). We drove the car around in all gears just before a full restoration began and it was a good engine but this 1936 was destined to be a rod. Is there any value in such an engine? Am I better off parting it out? The engine is sitting in a dry/heated shop.Photos attached.

What is this? A Dodge? A Chrysler?

Look a little closer to see the Pontiac indian head profile on the side of the block.

1935 and 1936 Engines are all by them self and very hard to find parts for. I am finishing up a rebuild of one now, and finding parts was no picnic. Problem is things like the water tube and internal parts that rot away from age. Most all these engines have gone now with only a 2 year production, and been replaced with updated motors. I wish now I would have upgraded to a newer engine as to the cost to rebuild!
