Guest petritl
Early this year my friend bought a 1936 Terraplane 4dr in April he transfered the title and licensed the car. He found out yesterday the State of Ilinois is holding the title to the car and want to compare the VIN on the title to the one on the car. The problem is I don't see a VIN tag..What is the location of the VIN tag?Tad
Jon37
Generally in the mid to late 1930's Hudson stamped the serial number on a small plate which was riveted to the passenger side front door post. Other places where the same number would be stamped: on the axle housing (to the right of the differential, and on the top of the housing); on the frame, passenger's side, in the area just aft of where the front axle passes under it. It may be on the top or outside of the frame. For the frame / rear axle numbers, you would have to use a wire brush to get rid of the surface rust, to see the numbers.
