DeJON Ignition Parts Info ?

I have been looking for DeJON ignition parts for my Springfield Rolls~Royce Phantom I twin distributors ~

Have had NO LUCK !

DeJON possibly was only in business a few years from 1926-1930 ?

Did someone else buy them; or take over their parts business ? What was DeJon history ?

Does anyone have an ignition parts exchange # list with DeJon listed for Springfield R~R Phantom I ?

What other autos used 6 cylinder DeJON ignition systems?

I thought I would have better luck looking for ignition parts for another auto ?

There must be another ignition brand parts builder who built replacment parts for this application !

Specifically I need part interchange # for~

6 cylinder didtributor cap

6 cylinder rotor arm

6 cylinder ignition points set

6 cylinder condenser

One of my rotor arms is broken, the other badly worn

One distributor cap has center tower burned through

Both points sets are heavily pitted

I have several friends who are going to the Hershey flemarket and will be looking for ignition parts for me; But I need part numbers if at all possible ?

I looked myself at Hershey two years running with no luck!

No DeJON parts around.

The Rolls~Royce parts vendors do not have these parts .

Any and all info. or help greatly appreciated !

Thank You !

I contacted Special Interest Autos some time ago and they claimed to not have any R~R Springfield Phantom I Ignition parts.

In fact they stated that they only had a few Dejon ignition parts ; and only for some more common specific cars.

Thank's for the tip

It was worth a try !

Did Autolite buy, or merge with DeJon in the early 30s ?

I got a PM from someone here who thinks so...

If so~

Does anyone have an old DeJon to Autolite part # cross

reference chart ?

Thank's

Brad,

I sent you the message regarding the merger between Auto-Lite and DeJon.

Meanwhile I found a parts manual covering both Auto-Lite and DeJon equipment.

If you have a 1927 PI it must be equipped with one of the following DeJon distributors: BA-4001 or IAA-4004

The P/N of the corresponding cap would be IA-1001C

Rotor: IA-1282

Contact Arm: IA-3197A

Contact Screw: IA-272

IA-XXXX or IAA-XXXX are DeJon numbers

IB-XXXX, IG-XXXX, IGB-XXXX, IGS-XXXX etc. are Auto-Lite numbers

DeJon was eventually bought-out by the Electric-Auto-Lite Company.

They later changed their name to Autolite

Later Autolite was bought by Ford who was their biggest #1 customer.

Ford was forced to sell because of Anti-Trust govenment laws; to Borg-Warner !

There seems to only be six degrees of speration between these very old Firms.

The same can be said for Prest-O-Lite which goes way back to the carbide headlight days !
