WINTON "THE VERMONT" AUTO SHOW TROPHY

Recommended Posts

I have in my posession a silver trophy cup that old family oral history & lore says was presented to Dr Horatio Nelson Jackson & his historic Winton "The Vermont"

The first auto to cross the United States from San Francisco to New York in 1903 .

"The Mad Dr.s Drive" books & Ken Burns PBS Documentary !

The silver trophy cup is inscribed :

INTERSTATE

HORSE and AUTO SHOW

JUNE 5-6-1906

RUTLAND VT.

One AACA forum Member has uncovered DOCMENTED newspaper clipping accounts from this early historic 1906 Auto show

event ! (SEE: AACA WINTON "THE VERMONT" forum postings in general & Memorabilia & printed material AACA forums) !

BUT~

This is just the first step in DOUCMENTING it's real history beyond any and all doubt !

We need more of YOUR HELP to research this proof !

There is NO DOUBT in our family of this silver trophy cup's history.

I strongly believe that this historical inportant early auto show artifact belongs in a place of honor in an auto museum .

The AACA Antique Auto Museum does not own "The MAD DR's" Winton auto, his scrapbooks, photos, or his dog "BUD"'s driving goggles~

BUT~

With more DOCUMENTED RESEARCH it may soon display this historic silver trophy cup !

Any more reserch, information, photos, etc that you can help supply would be greatly apreciated!

Thank You :
