Guest DonRich90
I have a '66 Ford Custom 500 2 dr coupe (same body as Galaxies) with the 240 six cylinder engine and automatic transmission - no air. The car is all original with 72,000 miles. The battery that came with it when I bought it last year is somwhat physically smaller than the original battery tray and I assume it got "downsized" by one of it's prior owners, for whatever reason. I'd like to replace it with a new battery of the correct original size. The existing battery works fine but looks a little strange sitting on the larger battery tray. Anyone know what the original size is or where I could find out? Thanks.Don

Guest Jim_Edwards
The correct group size is 27F. Original battery would have provided 500 cold crank amps. Today's versions will provide 650 to 800 cold crank amps depending upon brand and number of plates.Jim
